Department Overview
The IP Content Business Department at Rakuten leverages the strengths of the Rakuten Group, which includes over 70 services and the Rakuten ecosystem. By utilizing Rakuten's unique assets such as its "sales power," "customer data of over 100 million users," and "diverse industry networks," the department aims to commercialize content IPs. This includes merchandising, producing visual works such as anime and live-action films, creating goods, and developing manga works, targeting various internal and external intellectual properties (IP).

Position Details
You will be responsible for licensing sales and business production in Rakuten's unique IP-focused licensing business.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute strategies to expand the licensing business by utilizing Rakuten's unique IPs (such as the OkaimonoPanda and new IPs planned for future development).
2. Conduct sales activities targeting licensee companies to maximize the value of the IPs, promote the conclusion of licensing agreements, and develop new partners.
3. Collaborate with licensee companies to plan and propose product development and promotional initiatives utilizing the IPs, and coordinate efforts to bring these plans to fruition.
4. Work with internal and external stakeholders (such as event management companies, product development teams, and promotion teams) to plan and manage the progress of projects related to the overall licensing business.
Mandatory Qualifications:
At least 3 years of practical experience in product development or event-related work at a licensing-related company, or in licensing product development at toy, stationery, or miscellaneous goods manufacturers.
*Experience in product planning, production management, and marketing in brand or royalty businesses will also be considered.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in planning, directing, and distributing character goods.
- Strong knowledge and interest in IP-related products or services, such as manga and anime.
- Confidence in planning and executing ideas, or a desire to further develop these skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks.
- A passion for taking on challenges.
- Strong communication skills, including sales negotiations and presentations.
- Experience in launching, operating, and managing businesses or projects.
