OVERVIEW
The Senior Editor, Audience will help develop and execute CNBC International’s audience strategy and lead the audience team in Singapore. They will oversee audience drivers including newsletters, homepage curation, social media and special reports.
They will also support the Head of Audience in digesting data and distributing analytics across CNBC International to help inform editorial decisions using audience insights.
The Senior Editor, Audience will work closely with the digital newsrooms in both Singapore and London, as well working closely with the TV, strategy and marketing teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing new audiences, digesting data and analytics, and be confident in communicating opportunities to internal stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the audience team in Singapore, working to grow CNBC International’s audience through newsletters, our website and social media.
Take full responsibility for CNBC International’s current roster of newsletters, including commissioning, editing and writing them on a daily basis.
Oversee newsletter analytics and use these to develop, pitch and execute future newsletter strategies.
Help manage CNBC.com's homepage during Singapore hours; work to improve visitor numbers and click-throughs by analyzing data in real time.
Oversee the digital and social elements of special reports and events taking place in the APAC region; play a key role in planning for these and acquisition of freelance support when required.
Help produce and distribute social media content across CNBC's platforms and contribute to the broader social media strategy.
Track the performance of our newsletters, digital content and social posts, as well as Google Trends, and communicate these findings to newsroom leaders on a regular basis.
Support the digital editors in both Singapore and London with editing and writing responsibilities when required.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience in newsletter writing and/or editing
Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets, business, geopolitical and economic news
Ability to work collaboratively with teams across multiple time zones in multiple countries
Ability to handle short and flexible deadlines, and work in a fast-paced, breaking-news environment
Good understanding of the role of digital and social media, as well as familiarity with using analytics software
Prior experience in journalism or digital marketing in a news environment
High standard of writing.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
While not essential for this role, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following attributes tend to excel in this position.
Seven (7) or more years of experience working in a related field, with three (3) or more years of editing experience.
Two (2) or more years of operational and/or people management experience.
Prior experience working with digital media and content management systems
Background in working for a leading business news organization
Additional language skills would be beneficial.
