Department Overview

As a retail electricity provider of the Rakuten Group, Rakuten Electricity provides "Rakuten Denki," an electricity service for general households, and "Rakuten Gas," a city gas service. Rakuten Electricity is expanding its services to become the No. 1 new electric power company by providing a safe, convenient, and affordable experience close to its users.

The service features a simple design with a basic charge of zero yen and a single metered charge based on the amount of electricity used, instead of the complicated and difficult electricity rate plans of the past. The service allows customers to receive Rakuten points based on their electricity bills and to pay their electricity bills with the points.

Furthermore, the digitization of the energy field is expected to continue in the future, including the digitization of electricity meters, the development of mobile communication technology, and the spread of IoT and AI. With the spread of distributed power resources such as solar power generation, storage batteries, and electric vehicles, virtual power plants (VPPs) can be used to control and optimize power supply and demand, bundle power sources generated by each household, and mutually trade power. I can also imagine a future where this is done. Against this backdrop, we aim to establish a new power platform by leveraging Rakuten Group's IT technology and big data.

Position Details

- Playing manager of marketing team for Rakuten Denki

Develop and execute marketing strategies

Conduct market research to understand and analyze customer needs, identify new business opportunities, and plan and improve services

Plan and execute promotional activities to increase brand awareness and expand business

Utilize the latest trends in digital marketing and implement online and offline promotional activities

Collaborate with other services within Rakuten Group, seeking and executing promotional collaborations

Agency management and optimization in various types of advertising (web advertising, SNS advertising, display advertising, etc.)

CRM, LPO, EFO, UIUX improvement through growth hacking, and CVR optimization

SEO, SEM initiatives, and channel development

KPI setting, performance analysis and improvement proposals

Collaboration and coordination with cross-functional departments and negotiation with related vendors

Management (administration, support, evaluation, etc.)

Human resource development and educational support

Work Environment

Marketing team

Number of people: 4 people

Group Manager (30s), 3 members (1 person in his 30s, 2 people in their late 20s)

Mandatory Qualifications:

- At least 5 years of experience in digital marketing

- Native level Japanese

- Management experience (budget management, personnel evaluation, labor management, etc.)

- Experience in planning and executing new marketing initiatives

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in marketing in the electric power or gas industry

- Experience in directing or working for an ad agency in a business company (experience in ad technology operations)

- Experience in landing page and user funnel optimization, A/B testing and multivariate analysis

- MBA or marketing-related qualifications

- Business level English proficiency (TOEIC 800 or above or equivalent)

After joining Rakuten Group, Inc. you will be transferred to Rakuten Mobile, Inc.
