We are seeking a passionate, driven, and people-oriented professional to join our Human Resources team as Assistant Director of Human Resources.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support the Director of Human Resources in leading all HR operations and strategic people initiatives across the resort.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, learning & development, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture aligned with Shangri-La values.
  • Partner closely with department heads to provide strategic HR advisory and workforce planning support.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Malaysian labour laws, company policies, and hospitality industry standards.
  • Support succession planning, talent development, and leadership capability-building programmes.
  • Analyse HR metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Lead and coach the HR team to ensure operational excellence and service delivery.

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a Human Resources leadership or managerial role, preferably within the hospitality or service industry.
  • Degree or professional qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Proven leadership capability with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
